It needn't be a five-pointed star, either you could also try an eight-pointed "compass" style star, such as the UK's Southern ITV station used to use in their logo, or even just four points. If the company's name is Star, I would argue you do indeed need to have some sort of star in the logo however, you could do more to make it stand out from more generic designs such as in the Google search page ricardozea linked to. I've also been designing logos for even longer than three decades, and worked in advertising full- and part-time for a number of years.
I will admit to having a bias for rainbow color schemes, so perhaps I can't be objective about that but I like the colors and am only concerned that you don't show what the full-color logo looks like over a white or light-colored background (which the client is sure to want in at least some instances), rather than the monochrome sample you showed. I spent nearly three decades working in prepress and four-color printing is the standard for most print documents what is really a pain for printers is spot colors or poor separations. Unless there's a strong concept behind that execution, it's clear that the overlapping of the other arches is the correct flow those top arches should follow.īut going back to the good side of things, the execution of the logo and the brand is outstanding. I have to admit that the first thing I saw that bothered me was what a few have mentioned here, that top left arch under the other one. Unless the geometry shows a few circles, arches and lines, it MAY be believable, otherwise it looks like the designer is arbitrarily creating geometries taken credibility from the build of the logo. I am not a fan of geometric "tricks" where you show the blue print of the logo. The brand system in Behance is impecable. Now, it's clear to me that you know your craft and do it very well. However, I think the kerning of the star and the T can be closer and maybe have the two tips touch the same vertical axis rather than leaving 3 units since the gap under the T feels larger on the right side than the left with the S. I do like the typography since I can see a close relation with the design of the logo mark. Ok, I have to say that the idea, symbol and colors are something I've seen before thus the logo in general isn't memorable for me.
